Founded on Bristol’s dockside in 1997, Steel Monkey has grown from a single workshop to a new site that spans two acres, with space dedicated to metal fabrication, joinery, scenic painting and sculpting.

Our 30-strong team of fabricators, carpenters, scenic artists, engineers and draftsmen have years of industry experience, so we can approach our clients’ designs with great understanding and bring their vision to life.

With our skillset, there’s no project too complex. From one-off public art installations and full touring sets to ceremonies watched by the world, we’re ready to get involved and create extraordinary pieces. Designs that challenge us, excite us. We welcome fresh ideas; new materials, technologies and techniques add to our craft, improving our service.

Our end-to-end service begins with the initial design, site survey, CAD drawing production, and continues through to the manufacture and delivery to the venue where our experienced team complete the installation.

We’ve worked on many prestigious shows, with great artists and designers, this experience keeps our talents flexible—we can easily adapt to the broad and fast-paced nature of the business. And for over a decade, we’ve been the choice set construction company for the Brit and Bafta awards.
